Genre

 Yo,

   The genre for our film is Drama. There is a clear “fight” between the two characters, there’s definitely going to be tension. The conflict is within the person themselves, the Non-Privileged having to climb their way to an even playing field and earn their rank. While the Privilege is spreading their knowledge, they want to help others in success. The two want different goals to win, however only one can win. 

   There are many stories with two main people fighting, one to prove themselves and one who helps others. A series, The Queen’s Gambit, is a chess related story, we’re able to use the way they move chess in that show like we do in our film. 

   We had looked into action or suspense, but those two don’t fit our story. We’re not doing anything action related, other than moving pieces and our facial expressions. For suspense, we aren’t going to lead to some wild twist and the characters won’t have amazing chemistry to have real suspense later on in the film. There wouldn’t be much content for an action or suspense genre either. We’ll be at a table, it makes the most sense to leave the editing alone and focus with expressions or actions with the characters, than add or remove to create a film something it isn’t.
