11. Clichés
After getting feedback, I have been informed that the film is basically a walking cliché. However, that's something that I would want. This story is partially based on my own life and feelings towards my art. There are aspects where there are differences, like the type of bullying the character would go through (physical bullying). The main idea for the film is basically the same. Most times I draw, I get extremely overwhelmed or frustrated to the point where I rip the paper and completely give up, to then try again another day. Sometimes I want to completely give up on art, but that hasn't been crossed just yet.
I have barely completed paintings, or canvases that have been repainted over with white to cover the mistakes I had made before. In fact, the canvas that will be used is one that I have done 2 different artworks on and have hated. That brings more meaning to the film for me, especially if the painting comes out good, I will be covering over my mistakes like the character has been. I will have the same frustrating feelings the character would have during the process as well, which allows me to understand them more and adjusting the way I portray them to the audience.
This cliché is overused, but that's just life, it's something most artists, or relatively anyone can feel, which is what I want. The film is to show that people understand that others go through something similar and there's people to talk to about whatever they are feeling, or even just to know there are others who are similar.
